Crumb Rubber is made through a process of grinding rubber tires into very small particles. Two methods typically used are Ambient (dry grinding) and Cryogenic (freezing and cracking). In the process of grinding down the rubber, the tire wire and the fiber that also compose a tire are removed. The final product is sieved and separated into different size categories as specified by the customer.

The resulting product can then be used by numerous different industries to add desired properties as well as reduce the amount of other more costly compounds. In the emerging new market place, Crumb Rubber is being blended with plastic to make thermoplastic elastomers that have the combined properties of both rubber and plastic. This combination enhances the beneficial individual properties into a resilient and durable product that can be molded and extruded.

Entech Crumb Rubber Specializes in Asphalt-Rubber

Asphalt-Rubber:
is a blend of asphalt cement, reclaimed tire rubber and certain additives, in which the rubber component is at least 15% by weight of the total blend and has reacted in the hot asphalt cement sufficiently to cause swelling of the rubber particles.
